Urban Exploration Photos

I recently had the chance to check out the Symes Waste Management facility on the weekend. I frequent the website UER.ca, it’s the go-to website for urban exploration and abandoned building photography. Once a month, a group of like minded people meet in Toronto to explore and discover interesting and unique places. This time on the agenda was an abandoned garbage facility; it was once used for the collection and burning of raw garbage but in the 80s was converted into a waste management plant and they shutdown the smoke stacks. It was officially shutdown in 1999 and shortly thereafter was home to many rave parties and even Hollywood feature films like Cinderella Man.
